A hermit’s life
Posted by Terry Nelson on Jan 21st, 2007
Today, that was me…I didn’t leave my cell…but it’s not a hermit’s life that kept me in. I wasn’t feeling well enough to go to Mass.
It is the first time in over 20 years that I missed Mass on Sunday. I always drag myself there no matter how ill I am. Hence, I feel terribly guilty for succumbing to physical weakness.
Sunday Mass is the highlight of my week - I look forward to it all week. I love Sunday for it’s prayer and recollection, being the Lord’s Day.
As usual, I did my lectio on the readings from Mass, made frequent spiritual communions, and read from the desert fathers.
It is just not the same however.

Terry,
I’m so sorry. You’re in my prayers.
You should do the Mary, Undoer of Knots novena (assuming you pray the rosary daily anyway - you probably do more than once!)
I’ve recieved great graces from this novena, and I can’t say the same of others…maybe it’s because my life is so knotted up I need her to untie things before God’s grace can work with the other ones. Dunno. But I recommend it for everyone.
If you missed Mass, you must be very ill…I’m going to do this novena again, and you’re going to be remembered as part of it. (It’s all on my blog, if you’re interested).
God bless you!

Well, I’m going to have to start reading your posts in the order in which you post them.
I just assumed you were at St Agnes this a.m.
Take care of yourself, boy! I’m really worried.

Terry: 20 Years! Wow! I wish I had a faith as strong as yours.
Don’t beat yourself up.
You are in my prayers.
