Ted Haggard Cured!

Posted by Terry Nelson on Feb 6th, 2007

I heard that on my drive home tonight - I haven’t seen it on the Internet yet.  Wow!  That was so fast!

Supposedly he explained to his Church he only had sex with that one male prostitute who exposed him.  (That nasty gay man who made Ted sin!)

Evidently, at his age, Ted suddenly decided to try meth or whatever drug he was using at the time, and felt inclined to exploit a homosexual prostitute for sexual pleasure…just for the experience of it.

He’s cured now and it turns out he never even was a homosexual in the first place.  (He found this out after 3 weeks of therapy at a SA treatment center in Arizona.)

Although, if he was gay, this is proof a person with homosexual inclination can indeed be cured.  It’s a miracle people!  It’s just a miracle!

Sarcasm aside, it seems Rev. Haggard and his Church are much more concerned about restoring their reputation and image than anything else.  Haggard has announced plans for a new career in counseling.  It’s all about honor.

To declare he is 100% heterosexual is not a lie of course, every man and woman is created thus.  To make this declaration therefore makes all things well it seems.  While that dirty little homosexual prostitute is left to wallow in his filth, the self righteous go away justified.  Something is not right there.

If you are interested, the Denver Post has the full report.

Pio No No

Posted by Terry Nelson on Feb 6th, 2007

February 7 is the memorial for Bl. Pius IX, affectionately known as Pio Nono, yet mockingly referred to as Pio No No by his liberal critics.

Upon his election he was considered to be a liberal, and I have heard speculation he could have been a Mason - although I have never come across any proof for that claim.  He turned out to be rather conservative and is well known for his Syllabus of Errors which accompanied his encyclical Quanta cura.  (Pius X issued a similar syllabus, both of which seem to have been ignored since Vatican II.  In fact, when you read these documents, it seems the Church is doing everything that was condemned in these declarations.  Which explains in part the existence of SSPX and sedevacantist groups.)

Traditionalist Catholics love this Pope and often refer to his works in defense of traditional Roman Catholic doctrine.  When John Paul beatified Pius IX with John XXIII, it seems to me he was making some sort of statement as regards continuity in Church teaching.

Persons better educated than myself can discuss him, and they do, on their own blogs.  Blessed Pius IX can be a bit difficult to understand to the average modern mind, even when they happen to be bishops and priests.  His Italy and world is vastly different than the world we live in today.

Wikipedia has a brief synopsis of his life and controversies surrounding his papacy.  I took the above picture from a wonderful blog entitled, Hallowed Ground.  Don Marco also has a nice post on Blessed Pius IX at Vultus Christi.
