Oscar comments…

Well, I got some picks right - even though I never saw any of the films nominated - just the trailers - I never saw anything on the guy who won Best Actor. As I watched the clip before he won, I knew he would get the award. I was very surprised “The Departed” got Best Picture. In recent years they usually have separated Best Director from Best Picture.
The biggest disapointment of the evening came when I saw Ellen wearing the exact same burgundy velvet suit I was wearing.
It was a fun show.
(I think Penelope Cruz is the most beautiful woman in the world.)

Didn’t watch it - I’ll only force myself to sit through it if Billy Crystal is hosting…
I bet you looked stunning!

I thought it was one of the worst Oscars ever! Ellen, who I generally like, was not up to the task. It wasn’t very funny and it didn’t seem very fun. It all seemed very understated, almost solemn. I hadn’t seen any of the films nominated, so I didn’t really care who won. But none of the speeches was that memorable. Nothing I saw would make me want to run out and see any of the films. I suspect it must have been a poor year for film.
However, those costumes were among the best ever. It didn’t seem like there were any misses. Modesty and understated elegance seemed to be in order. I agree that Penelope Cruz must be the most beautiful woman in the world. Nichole Kidman must be right behind her.
