The Rosary of the Seven Dolors - FYI

” We must meditate on the passion of Jesus and on the deep sorrow of his Mother. We must recite the Rosary and the beads of the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady to obtain the grace of repentence.” - Our Lady of Rwanda to Marie-Claire.
Go to Don Marco for the prayer of the Rosary of the Seven Dolors.
“You are distracted by the goods of this world. I have seen many of my children getting lost and I have come to show them the true way.” - Our Lady of Kibeho (Rwanda)

I was glad to learn about this, Terry.
For several years I ran our church’s religious articles shop. We had a large statue of Our Lady of Sorrows, with seven swords piercing her heart. It must have been about 2 1/2 feet tall. Someone had donated it to the church.
Father told me to put it out at our spring sale in the parish hall. An Asian woman saw it and was smitten. She asked in a quiet voice what it cost. I asked Father, and he said whatever she would give. She must have given everything she had on her, and I put Our Lady in her car.
But I never knew the devotion for this image until now. It can be so hard for a convert to learn about these things.

Dear Brett, What a lovely story. Many people do not understand the mystery of the Sorrows of the Mother of Jesus. My experience is that people who have suffered — and are suffering — especially women, are graced with an intuitive appreciation of Our Lady’s sorrows and compassion. Those whose hearts have been pierced or broken are also disposed to enter into Mary’s sorrowful heart. The first three sorrows were shared with Saint Joseph; the last four with Saint John. See my blog for the biblical references to the Seven Sorrows. The fruits of this devotion are compunction, conversion of life, confidence in the Wounds of Christ, trust in His Mercy, and hope.
