Was Jesus a Trad?

Jesus must have been a traditionalist. In his homily for Holy Thursday, Pope Benedict observed that Our Lord may have been following the liturgical calendar of the Essenes for the observance of Passover instead of the newer calendar of the Jewish Priesthood in Jerusalem at the time. Perhaps explaining why the Seder (Last Supper) took place on Thursday instead of Friday. Read the article “Pope links Jesus to the Essenes“.
It may also make PETA people happy to know that the Holy Father said he probably didn’t have lamb either, since Jesus himself was the lamb. (Also, the Essenes did not perform animal sacrifice.)
