What I do in my spare time…

Presented are a few photos of my garden - I’m not a great photographer - so don’t expect much.
The Hostas are in full bloom, so it is rather dramatic - otherwise is is more or less a green garden.
Looking through to the shade garden with the birdbath - the yard is divided into “rooms” and the shade garden is named, “St. Joseph’s Wood” - because the lilacs have been trimmed into ”trees”.

The master of the house, St. Joseph.

This is the “sitting room” - graveled as they do in Provence. I live across the street from a former Lutheran Church turned Seventh Day Adventist. This particular sect thinks the Pope is the anti-Christ - they often attempt to engage me in a religious discussion, but I never take the bait. (They gather on Saturday, when I hang the Papal flag out for them to see.)
Just another view of the Hostas. There are two stone “putti” at the rear of the “green room” representing the two seasons of Minnesota - Summer and Winter. If I get a chance, another day I’ll photograph the front, with views of the house. Have a nice Sunday.

Pretty Posh, Terry:
I understand that Cathy has a riding lawn mower that doesn’t get much use. Maybe you could talk her into driving over and doing a little gardening for you.

It’s the kind of garden I could sit in for hours, it’s really very lovely.

Are you serious? That’s beautiful!

Absolutely gorgeous!

What a beautiful garden! I do admire people who are good at gardening, because I am so bad at it. I think the key is, you have to want it more than you want to go inside and sit down and read. Hard work produces future results, laziness always pays off right now.

What’s St. Joseph made from?

Jeffrey - He is sculpted in Minnesota stone - or more precisely, sandstone. He was given to me by an antigue dealer after the death of my father. He is about 26″ tall, standing on a 36″ column imbedded in the hedge. He used to be in the shade garden, but some one tried to steal him, so he is closer to the house now, in a more enclosed area I pray in.

That’s a good piece of sculpture.

Beautiful, Kimberly! Wish I were sitting in your garden with a good book and a glass of lemonade right about now …

“Kimberly”? Make that Terry … forgot whose blog I was on, as usual.

Very lovely garden Terry. I also have a passion for gardening. It’s really addicting, actually. I go outside and pull one weed, and then hours later, I’m still in the garden!

What a gorgeous meditation garden–and so inviting for a cup of tea!!
Please remember to pray for your blogger buddies from time to time there?
God bless!

Terry, what a wonderful place to call home. Love the gravel! How do you keep the rabbits away from your hostas? Ours are all chewed off.

Thank you for the pics…a lovely space. Where did you get a Papal flag? I would like to get one, especially one not made in China. Thanks again for the look into your garden!

I have had the privilege of actually stepping foot into his garden. It truly one of the most well maintained and aesthetically pleasing gardens I have ever been in. It is remarkably quiet and it is extremely enchanting. In short, I love it. How are your bunny’s Terry?

Beautiful. You should lease the space out for retreats

Judy - I sent away someplace for the flag when JPII was dying. I have a feeling it is Chinese.
Little Freak - The bunnies are great - they love eating the Hosta blooms. They want to thank you for the nice card too.

I am so happy you got the card. Angelina misses you so.
