Dynasty

American continuity.
Chances are Hillary is going to be our next President, which means we will have another Clinton in the White House. As Joanna Boggle once pointed out to me, we Americans have a sort of “royal family” dynasty thing going on in our politics - and it is just not the British who revere the continuity of their Royals.
It seems to be true however. Beginning with our fascination of the Kennedy clan, we moved on to elect 2 Bush men (LOL!), and now we may be doing likewise with our little “Evita”, Hillary Clinton. When you think about it, we aren’t electing anyone new then are we. We aren’t moving forward, just round about in circles.

Commentator Nancy Giles spoke her piece re: the Clinton’s on CBS Sunday Morning, saying essentially “what is America thinking letting 2 families hog the White House for 2 decades?!” Surprisingly she said do NOT vote Hillaryous into office if not for any other reason than our need for fresh blood in this land. Well Ms. Giles got MY vote!

Before the current president’s ratings slumped drastically, people with a straight face would suggest that his wife or his brother in Florida should succeed him.
Celebrity seems to be what the average voter wants.
I wonder if Chelsea will be 35 by the time Hilary’s second term would be over so she could run?

Nothing against Chelsea actually–just the idea of a third family member.

Maybe we should take a step back and redo things to be more like the Brits. Elect a prime minister and also have a King/Queen. I think Tom Cruise and Barbra Streisand for the monarchy, no, Brad and Angelina. At least we might be able to separate celebrity and politics a bit, kind of like that notion of Church and State ;}

The election of Hillary scares me. We’ll really have to step up the prayers if she gets elected.
