Ken at Hallowed Ground has an exquisite post on the subject.

I attended the Noon Mass at Marytown today. The Priest mentioned today is the Feast Of Pius X, who urged frequent reception of the Eucharist, the Spirit moved me to receive the Blessed Sacrament on the tongue, for only the 2nd time in 30 years. And then I read your post. Serendipity?

I love Marytown! You are so fortunate to have been there. Do you live nearby or just traveling through?

Terry, not to do with this particular post, but wanted to leave this link for any of your readers that happen to be out Chicago-ish way. There’s a big pro-life rally in Aurora this Saturday. Here’s the link: http://www.prolifeaction.org/#aug25
Thanks Terry and God Bless,

Re: Marytown. Did you know the ceiling the chapel collapsed about one year ago? No one was hurt but Mass and Adoration were moved into the basement in the main building. Repairs are done and worship begins again the weekend of September 14th.
Marytown is the only place I know of in the NW Chicago suburbs that still has a “Jesus in the Tomb” on Holy Saturday.
Peace

I was thinking the same thing about that gown–so modest and so lovely!

So elegant.
Just had to mention that Grace Kelly’s family was from the same small town in Ireland that my mother’s family is from. No relation though, that I know of.

I wish brides looked like that today.

Jeron, in fairness I have to point out that most brides didn’t look like Grace Kelly even back in ‘57. She was a one of a kind.
