The winds of war…
Is Bush a war monger?
President Bush has been building up the rhetoric and stoking the fears that Iran is getting nuke ready, and something has to be done to stop them. Is he preparing us for another war? Some Born-Agains and Evangelicals think an Armageddon in the Mid-East will hasten the Second Coming of Christ. (I don’t think it is good idea to tempt God.) Western Confucian has a brief post on the subject of Bush’s paranoia, with excellent links. I think you should read it. (The post is titled, “Stop the next war, end the current one.” )
“It’s time we put the flame torch to their keep
Burn down the mission
If were gonna stay alive
Watch the black smoke fly to heaven
See the red flame light the sky” - Lyrics; Bernie Taupin, “Tumbleweed Connection”

If only he was only a paranoiac. If only he was only a warmonger. If only he was only trying to justify himself in his father’s eyes as an equally upstanding son. But it’s all that and more.
He has made a pact with the devil, and we’ve let him. We don’t believe in the devil.
How has this happened, except that we’ve listened to anyone in this country who (eventually) put on a show of bravado shortly after 9/11.
Do we have no idea, none, what sort of Pandora’s box this madman-despot has opened? Who is going to shut it?
One cannot say it enough:
Impeach, denounce, and then charge him and his entire cabinet of liars.
Our children are fodder for the beast growing right now. They will pay the price for our allowing a megalomaniac to frolic amid the gates of hell.
I’m wrong? He’s just strong, is he? This is the Republican way? What are you willing to bet, folks? Your kids? Mine?
How dare you. And how dare this pseudo-Caesar suck the life, respect and hope out of America after 231 years. Get God back into your lives, and truly fight the evil that flourishes here.

Oh, my dear Lord, Terry, did you read this: http://www.takimag.com/site/article/cut_out_the_middleman/
I had never even HEARD of the “Project for a New American Century” –which is essentially a US draft of US kids put into the Israeli Army. My God. Help us. Everybody has to call their congressmen and sentators NOW and tell them NO to this!

Ooops…do I have egg on my face…it seems that Taki article was tongue-n-cheek, I’m sorry if I alarmed you with it. But, as one commentator said, it is almost too believable to be funny.
But, apparently the PNAC is a real organization, ( http://www.newamericancentury.org/ )and that is scary enough.

Georgette - that’s funny - many a truth spoken in jest however.
Joshua, thanks.

But that’s not “Tumbleweed Connection!”
(I mean, the album is, but….)
Isn’t the song “Burn Down the Mission?”
This has been your irrelevant comment of the day.
