That Third Secret of Fatima Thing.
Conspiracy theorists contend that the entire Third Secret has not been revealed, mainly because they are looking for words from Our Lady explicitly indicating that the Great Apostasy began with the II Vatican Council. They will not be satisfied until they find a document quoting Our Lady in the Third Secret foretelling all the turmoil in the Church and the Liturgy since the Council. They are certain the powers that be in the Vatican are involved in a huge cover-up. Whatever.
A clarification from the last surviving witness:
Archbishop Loris Capovilla, 91, who witnessed Pope John XXIII open the envelope of the third secret, said there was no truth in the rumor that the Vatican was suppressing a vision of the end of the world.
“There are not two truths from Fatima and nor is there any fourth secret. The text which I read in 1959 is the same that was distributed by the Vatican (in 2000),” said Archbishop Capovilla.
“I have had enough of these conspiracy theories. It just isn’t true. I read it, I presented it to the Pope and we resealed the envelope,” he reportedly said. - CNA
Of course, maybe Cardinal Bertone was holding a gun to his head when Archbishop Capovilla made this statement.

It always amazes me the numbers of people that I consider to be solid Catholics that totally believe there is a Vatican coverup with the Third Secret. If you believe the Vatican is pulling the wool over your eyes, what does that say about your trust in Holy Mother Church?

I don’t believe there is a cover-up, but I do wonder why, if Russia has been consecrated to Our Lady, why we don’t have the period of peace. What is missing?

I don’t put any faith in that email, but nor do I put complete faith in absolutely everything stated by any Vatican official-be careful about that..
(In fact, I first found Terry’s blog because of his LC v regain coverage: one happy side effect of the lawsuit is that I found a good replacement blog for “open book”)

Swissmiss - I don’t think anything is missing - well maybe the conversion of the West - but the consecration came “late” and therefore the errors have permeated the world, hence, the conversion is taking time, and the peace delayed. Having said that, it seems to me Divine justice seems to demand certain consequences, which we may be witnessing - at least, that is what I think may be happening.
Nevertheless, most people believe Fatima is “over” and no longer relevant, and perhaps this is the cause. Our words must always be backed up with deeds.
