Devotion to the Child Jesus.
The novena to the Infant Jesus began yesterday (or today, if you want it to end on the 25th). This is another reason why I’m so looking forward to Christmas. I celebrate the novena to the Infant Jesus each month, which means the 25th of every month becomes a little Christmas. Thus each monthly novena is a sort of preparation for the Solemnity of Christmas on December 25.
Devotion to the Child Jesus is devotion to the Incarnation of the Word, to the Sacred Humanity of Jesus, to his Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. It is neither a sentimental devotion, nor childish practice. As the reading from the vigil of Christmas affirms: In Him, “The grace of God has appeared, offering salvation to all men. It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires, and live temperately, justly and devoutly in this age…” - Titus 2:11-12
