The Chapel of the Sacred Heart

Notre Dame, Montreal, Quebec

I found this photo on another website today.  It is the chapel I visited in Montreal some 36 years ago.  This is the chapel wherein I lit a candle asking Our Lord to be patient with me, explaining that I wasn’t ready to return to Him yet.  (In other words, I wasn’t ready to make the necessary renunciations.)  Within a few month’s time, I returned to the sacraments.   Our Lord took care of the rest.

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and find life burdensome.”

When things seem impossible for us, we need to remember all things are possible for God.  We say one thing, he does another.

“My heart is moved with pity…” - Matthew 15

“Behold our God, to whom we look to save us!” - Isaiah 25

“The Little Jesus also taught me to know myself. I have but too many reasons to make myself little: my past faults, my present miseries, temptations. All these things recall me ceaselessly to humility. My Little Jesus does not permit that I should forget them; He takes care to recall them to me, but bathed, as it were, in His mercy. ” - Dom Vital Lehodey

[Don Marco  has translated more of Dom Lehodey's writings.  Also, I thank Don Marco for the image of St. Christopher and the Child Jesus.]
