The Chapel of the Sacred Heart

Notre Dame, Montreal, Quebec
I found this photo on another website today. It is the chapel I visited in Montreal some 36 years ago. This is the chapel wherein I lit a candle asking Our Lord to be patient with me, explaining that I wasn’t ready to return to Him yet. (In other words, I wasn’t ready to make the necessary renunciations.) Within a few month’s time, I returned to the sacraments. Our Lord took care of the rest.
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and find life burdensome.”
When things seem impossible for us, we need to remember all things are possible for God. We say one thing, he does another.

Jesus does, doesn’t He! Lovely chapel, and looks quiet.
The Black Madonna Shrine near St. Louis was a place I started visiting frequently after stumbling upon it accidently while driving. It was a very peaceful place. It is one of those mile maker events in my conversion.
It was founded by the Franciscan Missionary Brothers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1927, a Polish order. Looking back, I think my dear polish maid who introduced me to Padre Pio, and who had died a couple months prior to my discovery of the Shrine, must have be doing some intercessor prayers that help guide me to this little gem…

Beautiful chapel, Terry. I LOVE the depiction of the Sacred Heart on the wall, but especially like the Lamb with the Cross.
Is this in the Notre Dame Basilica? I have close friends who Canadian and may have visited there.
Blessings,
Tom
