When spirituality becomes occult…

Promoting superstition.
Whoever writes for Spirit Daily is certainly consistent when it comes to promoting the superstitious BS about the number 11. The Daily has been running a series of misleading reports upon the spiritual significance of the number 11. It seems to me whoever is writing the articles would have to delve into the occult to come up with a lot of the stuff they are claiming. Spirit Daily may be entertaining as a journal of legitimate reporting with crack-pot conspiracy theories sprinkled in - but be careful not to believe everything you read on the site.

Whenenver someone mentions Spirit Daily, the theme from The Twilight Zone starts playing in my head. Annoying, but appropriate.

Ahhh, Terry, you’ve hit one of my raw nerves. I used to enjoy Spirit Daily, but so much attention to ghosts and visions and signs and portents… I think we’re all better off without such distractions.
Happy New Year, and God bless you!

Terry, I used to have Spirit Daily on my favorites list–they were amusing–but they sort of went off to the “occult” end–I have stopped visiting their site.

Terry…My wife (from Iowa) has relatives in Minnesota and I think one of them is a Terry Nelson…I’ll check it out when she rises this New Year (we were at Midnight Mass). I too lament the lack of discernment that is found on SD and particularly in areas where strong leadership in needed. Social communications is the critical battleground in this information age and as Pope Benedict brought to light in Spe Salvi, HOPE must be both informative and performative. I wish Michael Brown, Michael O’Brien and Michael Dubriel could work together and provide mutual support as they contine to work amidst the grain and weeds. We laity need to see unity of purpose, for it provides a great measure of this HOPE.
Happy New Year!

Mike - let me know if she thinks we are related, but to my knowledge, I have no relatives from Iowa.

Terry: LOL from your comment to Don Marco (I like the name Don Marco better then Father Mark, sorry, Father. I’m a stubborn poo)
Anyway, Terry, you named the reasons why I don’t read spiritdaily. It can get so whack. Gosh, I’ll just read my blog if I want to read conspiracy theories that makes no sense mixed in with sane legitimate posts!

Hee hee! There are 11 posts!
Um…mine will be # 12.
Anyway, I still read SD, although I’ve NEVER read all the links. I agree it’s gone too tabloid. Often, though they do have some good info, links to news sources and such that have good stories. More often than not, though, it’s all fluff, occult, and private revelation stuff.
