Saintly news
Just a note.
The parents of St. Therese will be beatified later this year.
More surprisingly, the beatification of Cardinal Newman is said to be imminent. (Cardinal Newman Society gays and others should be happy about that - they like to think he was.)
And the relics of St. Pio will be exhumed for a recognitio? I thought that was only performed during the process, not after canonization? See - they want to move the remains to the new church - which everyone hates - and this is a good excuse to move the body. The relatives are not happy about it either.
People love rumors about the saints - here is one about Padre Pio’s missing body at one of the first recognitio.
Crazy rabbits!

Rumors. That’s how some legends begin.
Terry, I’m sorry about the passing of your uncle and the manner in which you found out. Take care and let me know if there is anything I can do.

Thanks very much Tom - It was just a matter of miscommunication.
God bless you.

Yes that’s true about Newman..one of our Priests is postulator for the cause & we live in the parish Newman founded..the Oratory..so hands off he’s my saint! lol (you may have seen me posting his gravestone which we visit often?)
That would be great about St Therese’s parents..

Very interesting news. Cardinal Newman was a great man regardless of the revisionists ideas about him. It reminds me of those who subscribe to the “Earth is Your Mother” stuff and say that St. Francis would’ve done the same thing. We need to be good stewards of what we are given, but not in a disproportionate way.
And, sorry to hear about your uncle. I had just thought about your initial post on this two days ago and wondered how things were. Sorry to hear he passed away and about the miscommunication.

prayers extend for your uncle, family and you … it is a sad way to hear about a relative.
regarding … the case of the missing Padre Pio …
the little tale does raise a bit of confusion in my mind … because why exhume the body & move it if he is gone missing … how legends are formed …
