became sin for us. - 2 Corinthians 5:21
reflected in his wounds
i see my sins -
which he wears
like a splendid robe,
studded with jewels.
in this life,
these wounds
are the only beauty
and sensuality
which can satiate
my desire.

Every now and then I’ll see a crucifix that looks like what crucifixion really looked like and I’m always stopped in my tracks. Getting a glimpse of the depths of God’s love for us is astonishing.
