Mother Superior- Tamara de Lampicka

One of the foremost Art Deco painters, the Polish born Tamara de Lampicka  is very collectible today, and once was one of Madonna’s favorite artists.  Often dismissed for her fashionable portraits and nudes, this image of a nun is rather impressive.  Although I like all of her work.

When you wrote Mother Superior I thought for a second and said, “Wait a minute, this doesn’t look like Cathy.” LOL!

First time I heard of this artist; and you are right, the work is impressive.

    Tom: Huh? LOL!

Terry: I, too, like de Lampicka’s work very much.

Wow, she sure is Art Deco, isn’t she? Right down to her image and her studio! LOL!

I’m not a fan of Art Deco, although it’s clear she had a lot of talent. I like this painting and a couple others on the web page, although some remind me too much of the paintings in my grandparent’s bathroom.
