Just another day…

So sad.

An artist in the UK hanged herself after aborting the twins she had been carrying.  As is often the case, her boyfriend was not pleased after she told him she was pregnant.  Her suicide note read:

“I told everyone I didn’t want to do it, even at the hospital. I was frightened, now it is too late. I died when my babies died. I want to be with my babies: they need me, no-one else does.  I should never have had an abortion. I see now I would have been a good mum.” - Telegraph.Co.UK

The woman was only going ahead with the abortion because her boyfriend Ben did not want the twins.

“Ay
So Sad, So Sad,
Sometimes She Feels So Sad.
Alone In Her Apartment She’d Dwell…”
- McCartney

Pray for the suicides.  Pray and sacrifice for those thinking about it.

So sorry to hear about this. When you think about it, this abortion took three lives.

A few years ago, Father Tony, my diocese Vocation’s Director, gave a homily in which he received a round of applause (the only priest I’ve ever seen get a round of applause after ANY sermon). He spoke about a priest he met while on sabbatical that entrusted him with some kind of sin he had committed. This priest, apparently guilt ridden, kept quoting a saint (can’t remember which saint or the quote verbatim) but basically the quote was to the effect of for everything you do, God will come after you for. This priest obsessed over these words. After his sabbatical was over, Father Tony returned to the Las Vegas, and after a few weeks he got a phone call informing him that the priest he had spoken to while on sabbatical had committed suicide. He shared this story with the congregation, and concluded with words I will never forget: “Do I believe this priest is in hell? No, I do not. But what a shame it took something like this (his suicide) for him to know the mercy and love of God.” Obviously, Father Tony is NOT saying that the priest’s suicide was a necessity for him to know the loving mercy of God.

Like you said, let’s pray for those who commit suicide or are contemplating the possibility, with special intentions for the artist you mentioned and the priest.

What a waste of human life, starting with the twins and ending with the sensitive artist who wanted to be a mother.

Pro life women have to speak up for other women, fight the lies that say abortion gives women “freedom”. Abortion is death.
Contraception makes women into prostitutes, sterile beings, deniers of their female form/rendering the womb sterile, the essence of who they are. Say no to it, young women. Refuse to cooperate in the lie.
God is Love, true love, happiness is found in Him and His ways, not in the feminist, androgynous agenda.

    Dear Terry,

I will pray for this woman, her children, and yes her boyfriend. Only after being pregnant did I realize how the effect of being pregnant changes your mind, body and soul. All sorts of extra hormones are running through your body. I have had seven pregnancies, five children to alive and two children born to eternal life.
    Mary, Queen of Life.
    Pray for us.

    Kate

    Unspeakably tragic. Lord have mercy.

Just a few weeks ago, my daughter’s recently x-boyfriend killed himself–my daughter is so sad–and her sadness makes me sad. Suicide affects so many people. She thinks about the “if only’s” could she have said or done something differently.

The depression and despair that leads to suicide is painful–but our Lord told us we would not be happy in this life–but in the next. In a state of extreme withdrawl from the world–one’s mind is numb–one does not think rationally–the darkness permeates every cell in the body–suicide is a mortal sin, but in such a state of mental illness will not our Lord’s infinite mercy forgive even one who takes his own life? Only God can judge–I don’t know.

Sad, sad story. And a reminder of the trap of despair we set ourselves up to fall into when we buy the lies of our pop culture-of-death: sex outside marriage is no biggie; abortion is no biggie; life is no biggie.

And, the biggest lie: there is no One to turn to once you’ve fallen so low. I wish this young woman had known about Project Rachel — http://www.hopeafterabortion.com/
