Are Riance and Woody really baptized?
Was your baby properly baptized?
Depending upon what type of Roman Catholic church the kids were baptized in may make the difference. No, it has nothing to do with the unique and unheard of baby name you came up with, or whether it was a priest, a deacon, or in some cases, even a nun who administered the sacrament, it is the formula that may have been used.
Ohhhhh! The formula needs to be Christian?
The Vatican has stated persons baptized using the following formula are not only illicitly, but invalidly baptized: “Baptism conferred with the formulas «I baptize you in the name of the Creator, and of the Redeemer, and of the Sanctifier» and «I baptize you in the name of the Creator, and of the Liberator, and of the Sustainer»” (Yeah, they’re illicit and invalid.)
Therefore, if you or your children were baptized in this way - you/they aren’t really baptized and you have to do it over. Look on the bright side, you can maybe get more gifts.
Who knew?

Yeah…there is a certain local parish that is contacting several families to offer to “re-baptize” their children or if they are no longer local, to go to have the baptism re-done correctly. Becaue they were “baptized” heretically under that formula. Thus it wasn’t valid.

And what of those souls who have died having received an invalid Baptism?
Will there be any accounting of those clergy who have foisted this charade upon their gullible parishioners?
We need a Holy Inquisition!

yeah, this is a very serious issue. I had two of my children baptized at a parish in Eden prairie who always made the sign of the cross with the old “I the name of the Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier” but I couldn’t for the life of me remember what words were spoken at their baptisms. After my ‘reversion’ and just prior to these kid’s first communion preps i called this parish to ask. I was assured the proper formula was used, baptisms are always said with the “Father, Son and Holy Spirit” I hope this is the truth. I’ve wondered from time to time if I should have them redone….I don’t know. What do others think??

Sanctus - I would have the baptism redone.
