Child abuse.

I read where Christopher Dawkins claims it is child abuse to indoctrinate 4 year olds into the Catholic faith - or something like that. “I think it is a form of child abuse to speak of a 4-year-old child as a Catholic child..” (I couldn’t get the link for the story to work at Pewsitters.)
Then I came across news that obesity may be ruled child abuse in California.
Why not just make having children a crime in the first place?

I hear this same stupid and inane comment made over and over to the parents of two children - a girl and a boy - “oh you’ve got your girl and your boy, you’re done now.”
To the parents of two boys or two girls “are you trying for a (insert gender of opposite sex of existing kids.)And then when they have one more of what they have people feel sorry for them.
It’s like having kids is a crime or an aberration or against nature. I guess that is why abortion is legal.
Sorry, that was an incoherant rant but I had to get that off my chest!

The statmement is just too ridiculous. I have to think it was taken out of context, it’s been all over the blogs but I haven’t seen the full statement in context either.

That picture just clinched the deal for me: I’ll never listen to the Beatles again. I was thinking about it all during Lent, since many very respectable and nearly holy people have pointed out to me that they were involved with all kinds of satanic stuff (Alistair Simms, etc.), but after having just had a baby, and marveling in the miracle of innocent life, that album cover makes me sick. Thanks for putting that up, indirectly you have resulted in me giving up something dumb forever.

This album cover was taken off the market almost as soon as it hit the shelves. What I find so interesting about it is that it came out before legalized abortion - and it was that generation which welcomed contraception and abortion with open arms - the photo seems darkly prophetic and also speaks to the issue of child abuse and infanticide - hence my use of it for this post.
Also - I have not been able to find anything more on the Dawkins quote either - perhaps it isn’t true - does it matter? The enemies of religion would most likely say the same thing.
