Photo of the seer from Bayside, NY, Veronica Lueken.
In the 1970’s it was revealed to her by heaven that an imposter Pope Paul VI sat on the throne of St. Peter and all hell was going to break loose.

The other rumor about her was that she was constantly getting static shock from the acrylic yarn in her crochet shawl. But the blue really compliments her eyes.
(Some of the stuff you come up with really makes me laugh, and laughter is ALWAYS welcome.)

When I saw the title of the post, before I looked at the picture; I thought it was about the other Veronica. It would be interesting to read your thoughts on this image: http://www.catholicculture.org/library/view.cfm?recnum=6346

Melody - I’m very impressed with that image, the Holy Father visited it, and I think Don Marco did as well, he posts about it on Vultus Christi I think.

She was full of *&#%$.
The Lord would have surely instructed one of His chosen to cast off that shawl.
“Fear not, my daught — wait. What the —? First things first. Lose the afghan.”

OH my goodness! Is she really wearing that rug with that bridesmaids dress fabric?
Ma Beck ~ My first thought too was that it looked like an afghan!

I went to Bayside in 1980 with my parents & a group from my parish. I was 10 years old and completely taken in. A fellow parishioner (a Bayside believer) had taken to sitting in the front pew, wearing a mantilla, & holding a pillar candle during Mass. (Very very strange for your run-of-the-mill post-Vatican II suburban parish). I recall as an altar server preparing for Mass, telling my pastor very excitedly about my first pilgrimage & about the wonderful seer of Bayside. He got angry and told me it was a bunch of rubbish. I was thoroughly crushed, but learned a valuable lesson in discernment.

Jeron! Did you each have a blue beret? I think the women wore blue ones, the men wore white.

Terry, I’d forgotten all about that! No, I didn’t have a beret, nor do I recall anyone around me having or wearing them.
