Is the Pope Catholic?

Posted by Terry Nelson on Mar 16th, 2008

Boy, I’ll say!

Look at his magnificent vestments, and how often in the past decades have we seen Cardinal deacons in dalmatics?

This Palm Sunday, the Holy Father appealed for peace in Iraq, saying;

“Enough with the slaughters. Enough with the violence. Enough with the hatred in Iraq!” Benedict said to applause at the end of his Palm Sunday Mass in St. Peter’s Square.

Pope Benedict, speaking of the murder of Archbishop Rahho, praised his dedication to the Catholic Church and said the archbishop’s death compelled the pope to “raise a strong and sorrowful cry” to denounce the violence in Iraq spawned by the war that began five years ago this week.

“At the same time, I make an appeal to the Iraqi people, who for the past five years have borne the consequences of a war that provoked the breakup of their civil and social life,” Benedict said. - myway

    Why won’t anyone listen to this wise, well-vested man?

    I’m so glad that he spoke out against the war in Iraq and mentioned the late Archbishop in his address.

    From your quote, he sounded very passionate about the whole thing.

    I’m glad he said this too, I only wish some neo-cons would listen! One of the parts of just war doctrine is that the situation will be made better. That has not happened manifestly and the Chaldean Church is one of the many proofs of that.
