The Boys of Rome.

Wednesday of Holy Week.

Elena at Tea at Trianon  posted a photo of a procession in Rome with two men I know.  Sometimes I think all these guys do over in Rome is serve at traditional liturgies, yet they claim to be students at the Angelicum.  LOL!  It is true however, they are real gentlemen and scholars - brilliant and devout men, studying and living in Rome.  It is good to see their photo.  (They are the men carrying the candles - John Paul Sonnen and Christopher Wells.)

My friend John is the one in the front with the incense. He served at the Nuptial Mass when I got married.

I wish I could be a part of one of the streets processions that are often a part of Holy Week (and other Church observances). My mom, when she was a teenager and later a young adult, always partook in them.

Here in Las Vegas the only procession you see (out side of Mass) is a conga line to a buffet inside some casino. (sigh…)

I really wish we had street processions here in Vegas, but they are infinitely nicer in Rome or the Holy Land.
