New Age gone mainstream.

Oprah’s entire show today was dedicated to past life regression.

I imagine Oprah fans will be coming out in droves with stories of their own past lives now.  I got into this stuff when I was about 20 - my friend Jim told me he had been a monk in Russia before the revolution, and I was convinced I had been Tsar Nicholas - which, if it was possible, could have explained why I’m such an idiot in this life.  Anyway, we figured all of this out after we saw the movie Nicholas and Alexandra.  (Our other friends were all from the lost continent of Atlantis.)

I love myth!  And no - I do not believe in reincarnation.

(I’ll bet Monica watched!)

On Humility

The seventh degree of humility is that he consider himself lower and of less account than anyone else, and this not only in verbal protestation but also with the most heartfelt inner conviction, humbling himself and saying with the prophet, “But I am a worm and no man, the scorn of men and the outcast of the people.  After being exalted, I have been humbled and covered with confusion.”  And again, “It is good for me that you have humbled me, that I may learn your commandments.” - RSB

Jesus meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto thine.

Our Lady of Fatima

Posted by Terry Nelson on May 13th, 2008

Today is Our Lady’s feast of course, and the 91st anniversary of her first apparition to the three children of Fatima.

At every apparition Our Lady said, “Pray the rosary every day…”

The Blessed Virgin asked for devotion to her Immaculate Heart, along with prayer and sacrifices for the conversion of sinners.

Our Lady permitted the children, even the littlest of the three, Jacinta, to see a vision of hell and explained that many are damned because they have no one to make sacrifices and pray for them.

Later, Our Lady of the Rosary showed the children a vision of the vast destruction resulting from disaster, war, famine and the persecution of the Church;  all because people fail to amend their lives and ignore Our Lady’s requests for prayer, sacrifice, and the consecration of our lives, including the minutia of our daily duties.  The world often ignores heaven’s requests.

Please pray for the victims of the earthquake in China, the cyclone in Myanmar, the ongoing suffering of the people of Darfur and elsewhere on the African continent, and for the victims of war and violence in Iraq and the Mideast, as well as the victims of devastating storms and tornadoes in the US… and so on, and so on, and so on.
