Every day….
Gay stuff is in the news.
On most Catholic daily-news sites, nearly every day there is a new report regarding some aspect of the ongoing conflict homosexuals wage in their efforts to undermine the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. So when I write about this stuff, first of all, it is nothing new for me. Secondly, it isn’t as if I’m making things, or initiating controversy - the stuff is out there - the assault by gay activists is out there and I comment on it. I counter with authentic Catholic teaching. Why? I explained myself nearly 2 years ago when I cited the following from Pope Benedict XVI:
“In his most powerful statements to date on issues involving sexual morality, Pope Benedict XVI said homosexuals end up destroying themselves so the Church has a duty to speak out on moral issues that affect the very spiritual and physical lives of man.
In seeking to emancipate himself from his body (from the ‘biological sphere’), [man] ends up by destroying himself,” the pope told cardinals, archbishops, bishops and members of the Roman Curia last week in a traditional meeting overlooked by most of the world’s press. “Against those who say that ‘the Church should not involve herself in these matters,’ we can only respond: does man not concern us too? The church and believers must raise their voices to defend man, the creature who, in the inseparable unity of body and spirit, is the image of God.” - World Net Daily
The Holy Father said, “the Church and believers must raise their voices…” Contrary to one man’s opinion, I am not interpreting what the Holy Father or the Magisterium declares - but I do repeat the teaching in my posts. I do so for several reasons, one purpose amongst these is in support for people such as Mark, a commenter on the post I wrote in response to the Holy Father’s quote above. This is what Mark had to say in 2006:

Terry, you are a faithful son of the Church and an inspiration to me. I, for one, am so very thankful you post on this topic … with your keen insight, conviction, compassion and even humor. What I find most edifying is your ability to absorb the attacks, and even praise and thank God for the humiliations you suffer. I hope to one day be able to profit the same; not just for myself, but for those the Lord sends my way. God Bless you!

I have written elsewhere - one cannot be “Gay” AND Catholic. To be gay means to define one’s SELF by sexual expression that defies the Magisterial teaching on sexuality. This is not the same as having a disordered sexual attraction, this is not in itself sinful, provided it is not indulged. I got into trouble with a self proclaimed but abstinent lesbian over this matter. She insisted upon being gay AND Catholic. She gathered the support of other members of the Catholic group i was in, I left for other pastures of the Shepherd.
To be Catholic one must accept all that Holy Mother Church believes and teaches because she is inspired by God who can neither deceive nor be deceived.
The Church does not acknowledge beig “gay” as a condition of the human Be-ing. Male and female, yes, gay…no.

It is unfortunate that so many of the GLBT supporters are railing against the Archbishop, making erroneous claims that Catholics condemn homosexuals and aren’t to pray for them, or something twisted like that. Previously, in his editorial in the Spirit, I found the Archbishop to be very pastoral towards these people. All he did was very charitably state the Church’s teaching. Either these folks didn’t really read what the Archbishop said or they are intentional misrepresenting him. Isn’t there a commandment about bearing false witness or have ALL the commandments been done away with?

So we won’t see you at the Pride Parade here in SF then?
I’ve been blogging a year longer than you, and the gay issue is certainly very present. Mainly because it’s the last civil rights issue.
As far as attacks go, check out the comments on my blog and you’ll feel better.

I second what Jeron said!
And Gerald, I for one won’t be checking out your blog’s commentaries. I can’t believe any Faithful Catholic would read you any more — except maybe for those few who engage you in discussion with a hope of bringing you around to the Truth again.
I’ll just pray for you.

” …it’s the last civil rights issue…”
Suggestion Gerald, please read Fr. John Saward’s book, The Way of the Lamb. I strongly beg to differ … I think our children are being denied many of their rights!
