Saints devoted to the Divine Infant Jesus

St. Bernadino Realino.

July 2 is the feast of St. Bernadino.  He had been a lawyer and then a judge, as well as a mayor of two towns in Italy before entering the Society of Jesus in 1564.  He was ordained in 1567.

After serving as Master of Novices in Naples, the saint was sent to Lecci to found a college.  Because of his charity and tender compassion for the poor, and especially galley slaves, he was much loved by all.  Many miracles were attributed to him in his lifetime.  He died in 1616.

His fame spread rapidly after his death because of extraordinary phenomena associated with his relics.  Information here.
