The apparition at Valinhos.

Posted by Terry Nelson on Aug 19th, 2008

Even at Fatima, Our Lady chose to accommodate human intrusions and interruptions.

Many people criticise the alleged apparitions at Medjugorje because Our Lady seems to accommodate the visionaries when they are not able to be at the designated place of the apparitions.  Nevertheless, critics may be interested to note Our Lady graciously acted similarly at Fatima.  For instance, on this date in 1917:

“On August 19 the apparition took place at the pasturage at Valinhos, close to Aljustrel, the hamlet where the children lived. This was because on August 13 the children had been temporarily abducted by the Administrator of Vila Nova de Ourem.” - Source

Pray the Rosary every day for the conversion of sinners.

Our Lady is a mother and naturally she made adjustments for the sake of children but I can’t seem to get behind the thought that she visits Georgia (or was it Alabama?) when one of the “seers” travels there for a public vision. Medj. just seems like such a departure from all the other visitations. However, if the Vatican says the apparition is worthy of belief I’ll shut up.

Dymphna - we think on the same lines on this subject.

I agree with you both. Satan is tricky. He is capable of fooling us.
I am so frightened of being misled ,that I have nightmares about it. As a convert I feel like an easy prey because I don’t know enough.
If the church didn’t approve it ,then I am out. I am super loyal to my church , and I respect their authority. They will keep me safe, unless the Antichrist is the Pope now or at some point in the future like the protestants say .

Hey Terry, please write about predestination, I don’t understand it very well. Maybe I would rather be a Calvinist? :) My friend said that she is a follower of his religion. I faked like I knew what she was talking about ,but I haven’t got much more than a clue.
