The Miracle
Fatima.
On October 13, 1917 the great miracle of the sun took place in Fatima. The thousands of pilgrims gathered witnessed it and journalists photographed it. The people assembled thought it was the end of the world and dropped to their knees in repentance. It was an extraordinary sign, not unlike the great Biblical events in the Old Testament.
God is not pleased.
Mystics such as John of the Cross say God is not pleased to have to intervene or perform signs and wonders that human beings may believe, especially since the greatest sign ever, was the passion and death of His Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. Yet the good God gave modern man such an incredible miracle.
Taking God for granted?
I was talking to a priest once who told me, “Fatima is over - forget it - everything is coming out of Medjugorje now.” Wow! I wonder what God thinks of that? Treating His warnings as one would a television season. Our Lady just happened to mention that if her wishes were ignored, “Russia would spread her errors…” Perhaps the U.S.S.R. collapsed, but the errors of atheistic communism and socialism continue to spread.
