The older I get - the better I understand him.
Last week at adoration a lady asked me about a book I brought in for the library, “Spiritual Direction and Meditation” by Thomas Merton. I told her, “This is from before he went astray - as people like to say.” The lady responded, “He went astray? What do you mean?” And I laughed and said, “Oh! I’m sorry, I forgot - I’m not at St. Agnes!”
