T & A at Mass.

‘Tis the season…

When women with out discretion and taste attend Mass looking like hookers.

Anyone who reads this blog knows I’m not all that concerned about what people wear to Mass. If it is really bad, I try not to look.  But Saturday evening, a nice, rather affluent looking, fashionable family sat in the first pew in front of me at Mass.  So you see, I couldn’t help but notice how attractive they all were.  (I think they really wanted people to notice.)  Neither could I help observe mom putting on more make-up, while daughter fixed her hair - over and over, and dad fixing his shorts, over and over…  Baby daughter was busy going through mom’s purse.  All three females were scantily clad - I love that term.  I’m not kidding - mom was hot and so was the elder daughter.  [Yes, I tried to keep my eyes closed - but I had to open them at various times throughout Mass.]

When women go to church dressed like sluts, I think it is safe to assume MOST  men suffer from inappropriate thoughts, and/or temptations.  Needless to say, Mass was distracting last evening and I did my very best to reject thoughts like these…  (And these may be tame compared to what a younger guy might think.)

Hot mama.

Mom is falling out of her top as she hands me the sign of peace - I think ‘pull your strap up’.  She does and then pulls her tiny little white jeans skirt down just a bit lower below her hips.  (I look the other way, pray for Our Lady’s help.)

Mr., do you want other men to look?

‘Husband,’  I ask to myself, ‘did you notice how short your wife’s skirt is?  How about your daughter’s?  Are you proud of their boobs, is that why they wear tight tops?’  (I immediately try to get rid of the thoughts, they enter my mind like lightening, and I pray a quick prayer to Our Lady.)

12 years old going on 18.

I think to myself, ‘What is the oldest daughter wearing?  Looks like a tank top, over a bra, over a bikini top?  Did they just come from the beach?’   She is standing directly in front of me.  (I pray, O God come to my assistance, O Lord make haste to help me - and beg Our Lady to free me from these thoughts.)

Saved by Communion.

After Communion I resolved to sit a couple of pews further back.  As we stood for prayer, I noticed the family had left - they must have left immediately after receiving Communion.  (Did I mention they arrived after Mass started?  We all have our bad days.)

[No - I am not a pervert.  Although the people in front of me were obviously exhibitionists.  But husbands and dads - make your wives and daughters put some clothes on when they are out in public, or at least when they attend Mass.  And maybe mention church isn’t beauty parlor time either - and explain to them how temptation and men’s minds work.]

Catholics who support abortions…

Through their Health Plans.

One of the most important benefits in the life of Americans is their health plan - they can’t live without it.  (Although many people do manage to live without one, those who can’t afford health care…   They don’t do well mind you, but they manage.)  I know of a few Catholic bloggers who praise the American health care industry up one-side and down the other.

One Catholic blogger in particular frequently disparaged those who were in favor of a universal health care system, as well as the poor people who sought health care but had no income; his advice - get a job wth health-care benefits!  Then he and his wife moved to another city and he complained about how expensive COBRA is. I wonder what he thinks now that he may be supporting abortions through their health insurance premiums?

Here is the story on the problem:

The chances are good that your health insurance plan covers elective abortions since 46 percent of all health insurance plans in the United States do so. A leading researcher urges pro-life advocates to investigate their plans to find out whether they are unknowingly supporting abortion.

During the Reagan administration, Dr. Robert Moffitt was the deputy secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.  The money, of course, comes from the premiums that all members of the health plan and/or their employers pay on a monthly basis — including pro-life advocates.“Forty-six percent of workers today in employer-based health insurance finance abortion,” he said, according to a OneNewsNow report. “I think this is critical.” - LifeNews

.

So this is my question. Would pro-life employers drop employee health-care coverage if they, along with pro-life advocates were not able to persuade Insurance companies to stop funding abortions?  Would a Catholic family opt out and stop their healthcare coverage because the insurance company covered abortions?Remember we live in a nation wherein our tax dollars are used to support organizations such as Planned Parenthood.  There are also many voters who claim to be Catholic who vote for pro-choice poiliticians.

I wonder if all of us have innocent blood on our hands in one way or another.

Children may be harmed…

When dad does tricks.

I came across an interesting article about a woman who wrote a book describing her experiences growing up with a homosexual father.  We often hear stories from parents of homosexual children, and now it seems children of homosexuals are coming out to tell their side of the story.  The author of  Out From Under, Dawn Stephanowizc is quoted here:

“Children are impacted long-term in homosexual environments – not just while they’re growing up, but throughout their adulthood,” said the author. “Children [of homosexuals] who have been in touch with me, even into their fifties and sixties, still describe certain difficulties that they are facing long-term.” - Americans For Truth

One should think legislators and society would take a more cautious approach to same sex marriage and adoption before giving blanket approval - especially after listening to the kids.

Alexis Stewart

This woman was on Oprah today.  She’s desperate to have a child and demonstrated the drug ritual she goes through to get one.  Every month she spends $28,000.00 to attempt to get pregnant.  (The price of an economy class SUV, or some folks yearly salary.)  Subsidized in part by her mother, Martha Stewart - who desperately wants a grandchild.  (Is that selfish self-pleasuring?)  I don’t know if Alexis is a dyke, but she obviously has no plans for a man to personally impregnate her - she uses a sperm bank.  The heartbreak  here is she waited so long to have a kid - she is over 40 and her eggs now  seem to be a little brittle.  She has had a few implantations in her uterus that didn’t survive, if they had, there surely would have been selective pregnancy steps taken.

She so wants to be a mom though.  Mother and daughter have it all, but not the baby toy.  A tear.

Colder than a witch’s teat, huh?

Family matters…

Last night a close-enough relative got married to someone she barely knows.. well, they’ve known one another for 3 months or so - he proposed after 12 days.  (My first mistake was asking if her mother did a background check on the guy.)  Needless to say, I did not attend.

The happy couple have been living together for a month or two - how does that work now days?  You get up in the morning, get ready for the wedding, go wherever it is the ceremony is to be held, and then you return home after the reception.  Where’s the mystery?  Or better, what’s the big deal?

The wedding took place at a  hotel, and of course it wasn’t a Catholic ceremony.  Not that that is so unusual - it happens all the time in Catholic families - even the most uber-Catholic ones.  In this case it is a little unusual, especially since the young woman was raised in an Italian Catholic home, sent to Catholic schools - grade school through college, and her mother always insisted her daughter was a good Catholic girl - almost Maria Goretti-like,  when evidence suggested otherwise.

“Mama, don’t let your babies grow up to be apostate.”  That was a country western song wasn’t it?
