The Ron Paul Convention

Posted by Terry Nelson on Sep 2nd, 2008

$17.76 to get in.

Yep.  Ron Paul is having a convention in Minneapolis as well - it is in Blaine, MN.  I believe Blaine is a suburb.  But he is here and the rally is tonight in downtown MPLS.  A plane with a trailer message flew overhead yesterday and Sunday announcing it.

“Ronvoys” of chartered vans have been streaming in since the weekend. Supporters are camping at an organic dairy farm in Goodhue, Minn., that is home to “Ronstock ’08,” a six-day culture-fest where the farmer’s neighbor has reportedly donated a cow to the food offerings. And thousands are expected in downtown Minneapolis Tuesday for the 10-hour marquee “Rally for The Republic,” featuring speakers from former governors Jesse Ventura of Minnesota and Gary Johnson of New Mexico to antitax activist Grover Norquist and MSNBC correspondent Tucker Carlson. - Story

(And yet… Jesse Ventura will be there.)

It is believed most Ron Paul supporters - if indeed they do vote - will back John McCain come November, “even if they have to hold their nose” - while others may simply write Dr. Paul in.

“Bastard people…”

(Pictured, my favorite unwed mother, Rachel from “Friends”)
.
Kids out of wedlock.
.
Who doesn’t know someone - either relatives, friends, co-workers, politicians - or their  kids, who have sex or live together without benefit of marriage, have children out of wedlock, or is just a single woman who simply wants a kid - and goes and has one.
.
These children were once called “illegitimate”; their status having been noted upon their birth certificate. In addition, the more ancient appellation “bastard” was used in regard to children born of an irregular union. It is definitely not politically correct to use these terms today. Kids shouldn’t be labeled because of the sins of their parents. Even though they are affected by the parents lack of morality.
.
At least they chose to keep the baby.
.
If a poor woman gets pregnant, someone will take care of her; such as welfare, the Church, or some pro-life agency. If she is rich, or has a great job, she can have her cake and eat it too. Thankfully, unwed mothers are no longer turned out on the street. Childless couples will find them in order to adopt their babies, oftentimes paying all their expenses and more. Pro-life workers will do anything to help the woman carry the child to term. That’s a good thing, to be sure. But are we somehow encouraging illicit births in the process?
.
Is it so bad morally that we just give a blanket blessing to everyone, no matter the circumstances surrounding a pregnancy out of wedlock? Are we so held hostage to the threat of abortion and infanticide that we give up moral imperatives and direction?  Is immorality to be affirmed because an element of shame might enter into the dilemma of pregnancy outside of wedlock - compelling a woman or girl to kill her child?  It all seems rather morally irresponsible - don’t you think?
.
Yeah - so like the only sin is abortion now days?
.
I’ve been in a workplace situation where a single woman announced she was pregnant - actually, that same single woman announced it twice in two years. The entire office got all excited and congratulated her effusively, they encouraged her and just carried on with attention and gifts. The woman was not married - never had been, the pregnancies were by two different dads…  So like something is wrong with that picture, don’t you think?
.
Republican family values.
.
Is the American dream-works myth now telling parents and kids it is okay to have sex and get pregnant out of wedlock?  That there is nothing wrong with pre-marital sex and getting pregnant - especially if you plan to marry the father?

“Why would God Chastise China?”

This may be another reason non-believers like to hate Christians.  Right in the middle of a great disaster and huge loss of life, that even secular media is calling apocalyptic, some religious person comes out with an article about God chastising China.   If indeed God was busy chastising China - the world ought to recognize the chastisement is meant for us as well.  What did our Lord say in the Gospel about the towers that fell?  “You will all come to the same end unless you repent.”

“California Court Legalizes Same Sex Marriage.”

And people are surprised?  The Court was divided- but the issue passed anyway - and if it goes to the US Supreme Court, I’m sure it will be thrown out.  The SS marriage issue is nothing more than an economic issue.  SSA couples simply want the legal rights heterosexual couples and their families enjoy - it’s not really about love.    In the American pantheon of idols; tax, health and monetary benefits, along with entitlements, are two of the most important.  (Even though Ellen was in love with Ann Heche, she will now wed Portia de Rossi, who is much prettier BTW.)

“What’s with all the gay stuff?”

A question frequently asked here.  but just check out Lifesite News - there is always gay agenda stuff there.

That’s all.
