What next?  After the American revolution has been won…

The difficulty for me is that I believe in permanent revolution. I believe that once you change the power structure and you get an oligarchy that is trying to keep itself in power, you have all the illiberal features of the previous regime. What has to keep on happening is a constant process of criticism, renewal, protest and so forth.” - Germaine Greer

A 2003 California law already gives gays registered as domestic partners nearly all the state rights and responsibilities of married couples when it comes to such things as taxes, estate planning and medical decisions. That law is still in effect. - Source

Woe, woe, woe, and woe again.

When the bishops start warning…

I take notice.  I pay more attention to a good, solid, faithful Catholic bishop who has the authority of the Church to instruct the faithful, than I do to unsubstantiated reports of heavenly messages from so-called mystics and private revelation.

From Bishop Robert Finn of Kansas City-St. Joseph:  (Thanks to Fr. Z)

Most fraudulent are those Catholic leaders, or alliances of Catholics, that insist that the radically evil injustice of abortion need not be directly opposed, but rather, that somehow solving the dilemma of the poor in a sweeping act of charity will cause the foundation of this monstrous crime to crumble.

Euthanasia on the horizon.

Why is this so terribly amiss? Because the foundation and cause of abortion is not poverty but a blind disregard for personal responsibility, a heinous denial and disrespect for human life, and an idolatrous worship of personal convenience. This is why even in the wealthy countries of Scandinavia the highest rates of abortions are followed by rampant euthanasia.

The woe part…

Friends, the poor do not hate their children any more or less than the rich. The poison of which abortion is the most dreadful manifestation is the sinful suffocation of selfishness, and it can and does affect all strata of society. Woe to those, particularly Catholics, who dare to try to convince us that their “choice” of a radically pro-abortion leader is within the parameters of conscience[A bishop who uses a phrase… with deadly seriousness… "Woe to those…"] God have mercy on those who exude freely this salve for their partisan cooperators. I fear that they will bear a greater responsibility than most. Against them will come not only the cry of millions of human lives savagely destroyed, but the souls of those they have sucked down with themselves. This is the very definition of scandal, and the reason that so many have spoken out with such urgency to announce the authentic teaching of the Church. - WDTPRS

Fr. Zuhlsdorf adds:

What the bishop said is certainly the case.   Those who will refuse to participate in the widening culture of death are going to be persecuted.  The vaunted freedom of religion enshrined in the Constitution will be shoved aside in favor of wicked policies. - WDTPRS

People get ready.

California bans gay marriage.

Posted by Terry Nelson on Nov 7th, 2008

And gay people errupt in anger.

California said no to gay marriage before - then it went to court, and the courts said yes - this week California passed Proposition 8 which in effect bans gay marriage again - now gays are protesting big time and are going back to court - AGAIN.  (In the future, the courts will be passing all the laws if gay people and Obama people get their way.)

“Seven people were arrested Thursday during ongoing protests in Los Angeles and San Francisco against California’s passage of a ban on gay marriage.” - Source

Hatred for the faith.

Gay people are reacting violently in some cases, while threatening more violence on blogs and gay websites - against religious people and churches; especially against Mormons and Catholics who were big contributors in support of Proposition 8.

“Burn their f—ing churches to the ground, and then tax the charred timbers,” wrote “World O Jeff” on the JoeMyGod blogspot today within hours of California officials declaring Proposition 8 had been approved by a margin of 52 percent to 48 percent. Confirmation on voter approval of amendments in Florida and Arizona came earlier. - Source

They protest in contempt for the will of the voters.

These are the same people who cry hate crime every time anyone suggests that homosexual behavior is disordered or sinful.  They complain church affiliated organiztions have donated big bucks - as if that is a crime; while the very successful and wealthy within gay society fund pro-gay political candidates -  outside of their own state, throughout the country, to unseat conservative politicians and promote gay causes.

Contempt for the rule of law.

In the beginning of gay politics - gays just wanted tolerance and acceptance - then recognition and parity with heterosexual relationships - especially as it concerned same-sex employer benefits; then, domestic partnerships and civil unions - and now same sex marriage and adoption.

These people are in contempt of civil and natural law.

Yet they  continue educating our youth to accept the unacceptable.  As one gay-Catholic blogger wrote regarding the defeat of gay marriage in California:

A recent study by the Cardinal Newman Society’s Center for the Study of Catholic Higher Education has found that 57% of students in Catholic universities and colleges believe same-gender marriage should be legal. Of course, this number is only going to increase.

What I think about the election.

Posted by Terry Nelson on Nov 6th, 2008

People have been asking me…

I suppose because I write a couple blogs some friends are really  interested in what I think of the election results.  Some friends have called me, others emailed, with the same question.  I neither answered the phone or responded to the emails.  It no longer matters what I think.

That said…

Yesterday I woke up very depressed over the results.  Yes I was pleased the United States made history by electing our first black president - And I could only imagine the genuine pride of African-Americans - I was especially moved by images of a tearful Jessse Jackson.  President-elect Obama is a very gifted man in many ways.

Obama’s victory is for white people too.

But it isn’t just black people who have won a stunning victory, it is also for all of those white people who have struggled for change in the 20th century.  Especially from the 1960’s on, those who worked so tirelessly for civil rights.  Yet included amongst these - going all the way back to Margaret Sanger -  have to be all the Marxist-Leninist-Maoist-influenced revolutionary groups that emerged during and after the 1960’s: Black Panthers, the Weather Underground, radical feminists, radical femes and ACT-UP, Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, and every other revolutionary group that fought and struggled so long and hard to overturn Judeo-Christian values in the U.S..  These people have also won.

Sweet talkin’ guy.

Don’t get me wrong - I like Obama.  But I could not vote for him because - and this is a huge number one - because he is so pro-death that he will ensure abortion as a civil right - he will do everything in his power to pass FOCA and nominate judges to the Supreme Court who favor abortion and euthanasia and same-sex marriage, and all the other evils associated with the culture of death.

Sounds off the wall to say that, huh?

It isn’t - you will see.

I’ve voted for pro-life politicians I did not like - for years.

Yes, I voted for McCain.  I like him enough; I certainly admire him and respect him for his heroism - but I never thought he could lead.  I love Sarah Palin - but I never thought she could lead either.  McCain wasn’t perfect on pro-life - but he was the better of two evils.  If he had won the election - I wouldn’t have celebrated his victory as much as I would have rejoiced that the life of the unborn or born-alive had a better chance of survival with him as president.

Why is the life of the unborn and born-alive the only issue?

Because if we enact a binding federal law that declares a woman has a civil right  to kill her own child, we will have lost our Nation’s soul - we will have “sold our birthright for a meal” [Hebrews 12:16] - and in the end, President-elect Obama will be governing a third world ghetto.  That will not be a great victory for black people.

[What I mean by a "third world ghetto" is that due to the increase of vice and wickedness, the U.S. will be liable to further decay and collapse from within.]

On Priests.

Americans are more concerned over the economy than life.

They worshipped the idols of the nations

and these became a snare to entrap them.

They even offered their own sons

and their daughters in sacrifice to demons.

They shed the blood of the innocent,

the blood of their sons and daughters

whom they offered to the idols of Canaan.

The land was polluted with blood. - Psalm 105: 36-38

Congratulations America on our new President-elect Obama.

Interesting statement.

On vocation.

“As Catholics, just because someone feels they have a vocation, doesn’t mean they have. It is the Church who does the calling, her voice alone we can trust.” - Source

And so if the Church says homosexuals may not be ordained… what does that mean exactly?

Humility.

Years ago, when I was working downtown, I attended daily Mass at a downtown church, as did a handicapped, mentally ill woman, and she would often shout out during Mass.  Sometimes, when a nun was present, she would shout, “I want to be a nun in Rochester.”  Mass would continue after her outburst, and I often thought how sad it was that she desired to be a nun so badly, yet she could never be accepted because of her extreme disabilities.  Once I asked her about her desire - she yelled at me and said, “I’m not worthy to be a nun - I just want to be one!”

She reminded me of St. Francis of Assisi who remained a deacon because he felt himself unworthy to be ordained a priest.

President-elect Barack Obama

Why did McCain lose?

Because he did not prove himself to be a leader.

That’s all.

Congratulations and prayers, Mr. President.
